As Treasurer & Chief Financial Officer of Sterling Realty Organization, Ko Choi oversees the company’s capital markets and treasury, financial planning and accounting operations, tax strategy, shareholder communications and human resources. Working closely with SRO’s executive leadership team, she helps guide the company’s financial strategy while supporting long-term investment decisions and continued growth across the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West.
With more than 15 years of experience in commercial real estate, Ko brings broad expertise in capital markets, treasury, asset management, development, acquisitions, accounting and tax strategy to her role. Prior to joining SRO, she served as Chief Financial Officer at Kemper Development Company, where she oversaw capital markets, accounting, tax, treasury, risk management and information technology for the company’s diversified real estate portfolio. During her tenure there, she advanced through several leadership roles, ultimately supporting the sourcing and closing of more than $1 billion in senior and mezzanine financing across multiple asset types. She also played key leadership roles in land acquisitions and dispositions, 1031 exchange transactions, estate tax planning initiatives and the development of Bellevue’s landmark Lincoln Square Expansion.
Ko began her career at Deloitte Tax, where she specialized in real estate taxation, advising clients on complex partnership and pass-through entity structures. She believes lasting business success is built on trust, transparency and treating people with respect. Her leadership philosophy is rooted in pursuing mutually beneficial outcomes and building long-term relationships that create value for ownership, partners and stakeholders alike. She is especially passionate about the tangible nature of commercial real estate and the opportunity to help create places where people work, gather and connect every day.
Ko holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, with concentrations in Accounting and Information Systems and a minor in Chinese, as well as a Master of Professional Accounting – Tax, both from the University of Washington. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
